Skoda Kodiaq 2025: Since it first arrived in 2016, the Skoda Kodiaq has become a key component of the Czech marque lineup across the world.
The 2025 version is a natural extension of this winning recipe, carrying forward the model’s clever and flexible design, technology integration, and European inspired driving feel with new lines and features in order to remain competitive in the rugged mid-sized utility landscape of the future.
Skoda Kodiaq 2025: Design: Modern Finish: Contemporary Design Statement
The 2025 Kodiaq maintains the design evolution of the Skoda, the Skoda simply looks sophisticated and present on the road.
The front looks at a new interpretation of the characteristic grille of Skoda, now wider and more upright, with more modern LED Matrix headlights with crystalline touches inherited from Czech crystal making. Sculpting on the bonnet is more pronounced lending a more brawny appeal.
The Kodiaq looks just as good in profile, the balanced proportions benefitting from some gentle crease work and wheel designs, which vary from 18 to 20 inches according to the spec level.
At the back, it gets new LED taillights wrapped around Skoda’s signature C-shaped lights, linked by a reflective strip that creates the impression of wideness. It’s got a roof spoiler and diffuser elements in the tailgate, for better looks and ‘aero.
All of these design revisions add up to a more upmarket look, although still, in a subtle manner that has endeared the Kodiaq with those who appreciate substance over form.
Interior Refinement
On the inside, it’s a further ushering in of the new age with the 2025 Kodiaq receiving a heavily updated interior that blends digital integration with easy-to-operate ergonomics.
A free-standing infotainment screen up to 13 inches in the dash (on premium trims) is paired with a customizable digital gauge cluster.
There are still two physical controls for main climate and volume at least, in keeping with Skoda’s – how can we put this?
The quality of materials takes a significant step up with more soft-touch sections, optional true wood or aluminum trim choices and better ambient lighting that sets quite nice mood.
Other Skoda “Simply Clever” touches include various well-thought-out storage solutions throughout the cabin such as umbrella compartments in the doors, ice scraper in the fuel door and a variety of hooks and nets that really improve its usability in daily life.
Seating comfort gets a boost from new front seats with additional adjustment, memory and available ventillation and massage on upper trims.
The seven-seater is still an option and it allows the third row to provide decent space for occasional use, while the five-seater maximises space available for your luggage if you don’t need to carry many passengers.
Powertrain Evolution
The powertrains of the Kodiaq of 2025 represent the ongoing change in the industry in the direction of electrification and provide an array of different solutions to cater for various market needs.
The line-up should be updated turbocharged petrol and diesel engines which are more efficient thanks to mild-hybrid tech. The key models still are the 2.0-litre TSI petrol and TDI diesel engines, offering a measured blend of performance and efficiency.
The star of the powertrain line-up is an enhanced plug-in hybrid system that brings together a gasoline engine and electric motors to offer an all-electric range of about 50 kilometers (31 miles)—enough for most urban commutes–and the freedom of conventional propulsion for longer trips.
The powertrain is designed for markets with established charging infrastructure and incentives for electrified vehicles.
A seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission shifts power; all-wheel drive is available on higher-output models for additional grip in challenging situations.
Drive mode selection lets you customize vehicle traits from relaxed to aggressive, altering steering weight, throttle response, and transmission-shift strategy.
Technology Integration
In the 2025 Kodiaq, connectivity and assistance offer leaps forward. Skoda’s latest infotainment system includes wireless smartphone integration, natural voice control, over-the air-updates and onboard apps for everything from navigation to entertainment.
The available driver assist package grows with better adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane centering, traffic sign recognition and semi-autonomous parking.
These systems are designed to assist the driver without intervening in the driving experience and are in keeping with Skoda’s mantra of technology in service rather than at the expense of the driving experience.
Practical Utility
Practicality is key to the Kodiaq’s appeal too, and the five-seat 2025 model provides as much as 2,065 liters with the rear seats folded.
The hands-free tailgate is activated via a foot-hands-free detection sensor, and the load floor is completely flat, for easy stowage of larger objects.
Towing potential still sets the Kodiaq apart from a lot of the competition – with up to 2,500 kg depending on the specification, motor or drivetrain, for those family customers who need to take the caravan or trailer out, or transport outdoor adventure equipment.
Skoda Kodiaq 2025:
The 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is the natural evolution of a proven product formula, we have taken what was good and made it better and then we looked at what needed work and what didn’t serve our customers,” Taubitz says.
With an adherence to the practicalities that have always underpinned its appeal but implementing much needed updates in design, tech and efficiency, the Kodiaq remains an attractive proposition for anyone after a practical family vehicle with a European flavour and convincing levels of style.
